Calico Rock, Arkansas – Arkansas Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense, announced today that The Arkansas Department of Corrections, North Central Corrections Facility, was honored with  Patriot Awards in recognition of extraordinary support of its employees who serve in the Arkansas National Guard and Reserve.

According to Richard Green, ESGR Administrative Support Technician Specialist, “The Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve.  David White, Warden, Eddie Selvey, Assistant Warden and Major Michelle Williams, Supervisor, were nominated for being highly supportive of the National Guard and Reserve by Jessica Sterlin, an employee with the Correction Facility. Jessica is a Technical Sergeant with the Force Support Squadron, 189th Airlift Wing, Arkansas Air National Guard. Jessica has been with the Department of Corrections less than a year yet has been deployed three times with the Air National Guard. She has received full support from her Supervisor and others with the Department of Corrections.  Supportive supervisors are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the Nation’s National Guard and Reserve Units.”

The awards were presented at the North Central Corrections Facility in Calico Rock.
