On August 2, Rob Carmichael (State Chair for Maine's Committee) hosted a "Breakfast with the Boss" event in Portland, Maine.  Nineteen area employers were invited to the Embassy Suites for breakfast, briefing on ESGR/USERRA, and then a presentation ceremony.  Major General John W Libby, The Adjutant General for Maine, was the keynote speaker.  MG Libby emphasized the importance of employer support to our national defense and service members' ability to serve our nation.

The Maine Committee garnered sixteen Statement of Support signers at this event.  In addition, they awarded eight Patriotic Employer Awards and one Above and Beyond Award.  Local media was in attendance and covered the event.

The breakfast was attended by several military leaders from the Army and Air National Guard.  In addition, several ESGR volunteers attended and participated in this event.  Rob Carmichael said " Maine has been blessed with outstanding employer support over the years.  Today is an example of Maine's employers taking time out of their schedules to show support of the brave men and women who serve.  It is truly an honor to part of such a great effort here in Maine."
