Louisiana Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve conducts New Member Training

Mandeville, Louisiana - Recently three new member volunteers of the Louisiana Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserves (LAESGR) received new member indoctrination and training for their role as advocates for those men and women serving in the Louisiana National Guard and Reserve components. They are Slidell, LA residents MSgt Michael B. Johnson, USAF (Ret) who served in the Desert Storm and Enduring Freedom campaigns. He is the Military Education representative for the Martinsburg Institute, a distant learning facility located in Martinsburg, WVA and Ryan Nelson who is a franchise owner of TRK Knives & Accessories. Naomi E. Roundtree is a resident of Ponchatoula, LA. She is a US Army veteran who served in Kuwait. She is employed as the Human Resource Director for the Hannis T. Bourgeois, LLP Certified Public Accounting and Consulting firm located in Baton Rouge, LA.
 
Frank Honeycutt, Program Support Specialist for the Louisiana Committee, conducted the training in the Board Room of the Central Progressive Bank in Mandeville, LA. He was assisted by Jimmy Rogers, the vice- president of the bank who also serves as the LAESGR Florida Parishes Area Chairman and Lou Gavin, LAESGR Public Affairs Representative. Mr. Rogers opened the training session by welcoming the three new members. In doing so he said, “We appreciate you giving your time to LAESGR. You should be proud to know you are joining the over 4700 ESGR volunteers who are supporting the men and woman who serve in the National Guard and Reserves.”

As the 1.3 million members of the National Guard and Reserve continue to perform an increasing number of unique missions with America’s borders and beyond, ESGR will continue to be the resource for the employers of citizen warriors.
