HASTINGS — The Hastings Police Department, other agencies of municipal government and the local Chamber of Commerce publicly demonstrated their support for National Guard and Reserve troops recently by signing a Nebraska Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Statement of Support.

The document will hang in Hastings to publicly declare the community’s support, appreciation and understanding for those whose working lives include both civilian careers and military obligations.

Shown in the attached photo are: (from left) Joe Patterson, Hastings city administrator; Major Ross Finley, Greenlief Training Site commander; Garth Scism, Nebraska ESGR Committee volunteer; Hastings Police Chief Larry Thoren; Hastings Mayor Vern Powers; and Tom Hastings, Chamber of Commerce director.

ESGR volunteers provide free education, consultation and if necessary mediation for employers of Guard and Reserve personnel. Please contact Executive Director William Nelson at 402-309-7105 or email william.nelson1@us.army.mil for more information on ESGR Employer Outreach Programs and volunteer opportunities.
