Omaha — Matt Neel and Abby Hansen, supervisors of Aureus Medical in Omaha, received ESGR Patriot Awards earlier this month. Both were cited by contract employee Brian Tyler for their willingness to schedule around his military duties related to his civilian work in medical facilities across the country.

Nebraska Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve presents the Patriot Award to civilian supervisors who are nominated by their Guard or Reserve employees.

Tyler said Neel and Hansen offer encouragement and support at every turn.

“They are both great employers and understand how important it is for us to serve and deeply respect our obligation,” Tyler said.

John Bryan, ESGR Support Specialist at the Aureus Medical facilities, presented the award. Aureus furnishes medical specialist staff to medical facilities nationwide.

ESGR volunteers provide free education, consultation and if necessary mediation for employers of Guard and Reserve personnel. Please contact Executive Director William Nelson at 402-309-7105 or email william.nelson1@us.army.mil for more information on ESGR Employer Outreach Programs and volunteer opportunities.
