LINCOLN — In a recent ceremony, Glenda Pierce, UNL Law College Associate Dean, was presented an ESGR Patriot Award. Pierce was nominated for the honor by Lt. Col. Richard ‘Andy’ Kruse.
Kruse, a law student, gave Pierce the award for her willingness to work with his schedule for training deployments. On the military side of his life, Kruse is a pilot with the 114th Fighter Wing based in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Patriot Awards begin with a nomination from a member of the National Guard or Reserve for the civilian employer’s support of the soldier, and often his or her family, during absences for training or deployment overseas.
ESGR volunteers provide free education, consultation and if necessary mediation for employers of Guard and Reserve personnel.
