Ashland, Ky. – The National Committee for Employer Support of The Guard and Reserve (ESGR) recently recognized Larri D. Terrell of King’s Daughters Medical Center (KDMC) as a patriotic employer.
Terrell is the nurse manager of the clinical resource team/medical surgical float pool and is responsible for scheduling a number of team nurses. She was recognized by ESGR “for contributing to national security and protecting liberty and freedom by supporting employee participation in America’s National Guard and Reserve force,” said Jim Purgerson, president of the Ashland Alliance but also an ESGR representative for northeastern Kentucky.
Terrell was nominated for the award by KDMC registered nurse and Army Reserve first lieutenant Rebecca Cumpston. “She goes out of her way to please all her employees. She is a kind and caring nurse manager,” Cumpston said of Terrell in her nomination narrative to ESGR. “I am lucky to have her as a nurse manager…she is very supportive of my career.”
ESGR is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972 with a mission to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the law, and resolving conflicts through mediation.
KDMC is a locally controlled, not-for-profit, 465-bed regional referral center, offering comprehensive cardiac, vascular, medical, surgical, maternity, pediatric, rehabilitative, psychiatric, cancer, neurological, pain care, wound care and home care services.
