LINCOLN – The Lincoln Electric System received two Patriot Awards recently from the Nebraska Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve.

The awards recognized LES for supporting, with its policies and leadership, a strong National Guard and Reserve force. Pat Marik, a LES employee who also serves his country in the military, nominated CEO Doug Curry and all LES employees.

“I wanted to recognize all the support I received while deployed in Iraq,” Marik said. “Employees took care of tasks around my house, checked on my family and helped out in many ways. Human resources was a tremendous help to make sure my family and I were well taken care of. And, Doug (Curry) also assisted my wife and family while I was deployed. A lot of people did a lot for us and more wanted to help, but usually the job was already done by another employee when they volunteered. I can’t thank everyone enough for all the support.”

Also at the presentation, Curry signed an ESGR Statement of Support in the name of LES, its board and staff.

ESGR volunteers provide free education, consultation and if necessary mediation for employers of Guard and Reserve personnel. Please contact Executive Director William Nelson at 402-309-7105 or email william.nelson1@us.army.mil for more information on ESGR Employer Outreach Programs and volunteer opportunities.
