The entire teaching and administrative support staff was on hand to witness our Patriot Award presentation to Mr. Stanley Tamashiro, Principal of Ewa Elementary School.  Mr. Tamashiro was nominated by TSgt Jennifer Kim, 154 Medical Group, Hawaii Air National Guard, who is also a second grade teacher at Ewa Elementary. 

In her narrative for the award, TSgt Kim stated that upon her short notice notification of deployment to provide humanitarian aid for the people of American Samoa, Mr. Tamashiro's first question to her was, "Who is going to care for your son"?.  He also told her not worry about her second grade class, as the school will assist with finding a substitute teacher to cover the period she will be deployed.

On hand to assist with the presentation and the Statement of Support signing was Col Braden Sakai, 154WG/CC; Col Stanley Sato, 154MDG/CC; Maj James Faumuina, 154MDG/XO and CCMSgt Willie Rafael, 154WG/Command Chief.
