In connection with its 50th Anniversary observances the board of directors of Basin Electric Power Cooperative approved a motion committing Basin Electric Power Cooperative to continue its support for the Guard and Reserve as well as veterans. Board Chairman and President Cliff Gjellstad, in the presence of the board, signed a “Statement of Support,” with the North Dakota Committee for the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). This new Statement of Support emphasizes employment of Guard and Reserve members as well as veterans.
“We appreciate the sacrifices of Basin employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve, as well as those employees who are veterans,” Gjellstad said. Basin Chief Executive Officer and General Manager Ron Harper noted, “The signing of this new Statement of Support is particularly timely as we honor veterans this Friday on Veterans Day and remember their sacrifices that have kept our country free.”
Bob Wefald, the Chair of the North Dakota ESGR Committee, thanked Basin Electric Power Cooperative’s board of directors for its continuing support as the Statement of Support was signed at a meeting of the board of directors on Monday morning, November 7th, at Basin’s headquarters in Bismarck.
