Los Angeles, CA: – State Chair, Andrew Wiktorowicz and his wife Karen with Region Two Co-Chairs Roxanne Talman and Gil Florez. of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense agency, presented the Above and Beyond award to Fox Sports. The award was presented to David Hill, Chairman of Fox Sports. Terry Bradshaw, of the nationally famous “Talent Team” signed the Statement of Support certificate. The event was recorded for broadcasting in order to be played during its live sports programming at a later date.
According to Andrew Wiktorowicz ESGR State Chair of California, “The Above and Beyond award recognizes employers at the state and local level who have gone above and beyond the legal requirements for granting leave and providing support for military duty by their employees.” Fox Sports was nominated for being highly supportive of an employee who also serves in the Army Reserve, and is known to hire members the armed forces. “Supportive supervisors are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s Guard and Reserve units. Their support is especially critical during a Service member’s long term deployment,” said Mr. Wiktorowicz.
David Hill, Chairman of Fox Sports, said, “…when he was a little boy, his dad was very appreciative of the U.S. Navy’s defense of the Australian borders during World War Two.” His support of his employee during deployment was an extension of that appreciation.
