Rosie the Riveter:
West Virginia is proud to be the home of at least 165 Rosies, many of whom are participating in a mission of reminding active duty, Guard and Reserve troops that the people of this great state care about their welfare and appreciate their service. Through this organization, West Virginians unite to show they value service men and women before, during and after their military experience. TPS hopes to help veterans be VITAL at HOME by guiding them to develop projects that make an impact on people in their home state. A major activity of this organization is to offer the distinct opportunity to Global War on Terrorism veterans to continue their service as civilian leaders in West Virginia.
"Thanks! Plain and Simple" is a West Virginia–based non–profit organization of the famed Rosie the Riveters who volunteered to produce necessary war materials, particularly ships and aircraft for the WWII effort. The Rosies were in evidence at the Job Fair. |
