Arkansas Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) and the 189th Airlift Wing, Arkansas Air National Guard hosted a Briefing with the Boss, Saturday, 1 October. Seven employers of Air National Guard members received briefings from Colonel Steve Eggensperger, 189th Wing Commander on the wing mission emphasizing the importance of employer support.
Additional briefings covered the C-130 modernization program (AMP), the Rapid Augmentation Team, 123rd Intelligence Squadron, 154 Weather Flight, and Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. The group toured the current C-130 and the modified C-130. They also visited the Mobile Emergency Operations Center. During their visit to the Security Police Firearms Training Simulator they were able to test their skills firing weapons in several war and civil scenarios. They finished their visit as the guest of ESGR having lunch with their guard employees at the Air Force Dinning Facility. Captain Jerri Daugherty with the North Little Rock Police Department was pleased to visit with six of her police department employees, all members of the Air National Guard (see photo). Two of the employers were presented and signed Statements of Support. Several of the employers were Patriot Award recipients. All of the employers departed with a new insight of the importance of their support of employees that serve in the National Guard and Reserve.
