Winchester Hospital’s Doctor Supports Soldier, Receives Patriot Award

WINCHESTER, MA. 07 April, 2009. As the senior management of Winchester Hospital looked on, Dr. Jose Baez presented Dr. Mohammed Jaleel with the respected Patriot Award. Dr. Baez is a member of the Army National Guard, and has recently been deployed to Iraq as part of a Medical Unit. Dr. Baez was very pleased with the help and support of Dr. Jaleel, and all of his colleagues of The New England Inpatient Specialists, the Hospitalist group of which Dr Baez is a member as was the administration of the hospital. The Patriot Award is initiated by the soldier and is presented to recognize excellent support from employers to the great men and women who serve America in uniform.

Winchester Hospital is a 200 bed community hospital with a staff of more than 2,500. The hospital is very supportive of its employees and staff who serve in uniform. The Hospital has been highly recognized by the Boston Business Journal, and by the Boston Globe as among the very "Best Places to Work" in the Boston area and The Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

The Massachusetts Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (MAESGR) is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of the USERRA law of 1994 and resolving conflicts through mediation. The MA Committee has more than 32 volunteers dedicated to helping every "Citizen Soldier". On hand representing MAESGR were Volunteer Dr. Phillip Steeves and Outreach Director Dr. Thomas Mulvaney.
