Verizon Business, Tulsa, OK - Signs Statement of Support with the Oklahoma Employer support of the Guard and Reserve Committee

Verizon Business in Tulsa, Oklahoma recently signed a Statement of Support Certificate with the Oklahoma Committee of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, an agency of the U.S. Department of Defense, for its commitment to the U.S. Uniformed Services Employment & Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA). The USERRA is a federal statute that protects the employment rights of military service members.
The letter was presented to Fran Shammo, Verizon Business CFO, by Oklahoma ESGR State Chair, BG (Ret) Gary Bray in front of an audience of approximately 200 employees during the Finance organization’s Town Hall meeting on February 3. The letter was placed in a plaque that will be hung in the lobby of the Tulsa facility.

Also during the presentation, group manager Scott Weaver, Customer Service & Program Management, was presented with a Patriotic Employer Award for his support of military employees within his organization. Scott was nominated by his employee, Army Reserve Sergeant First Class Randall Reese, a member of the U.S. Army Reserves. Scott received a Patriotic Employer certificate and a Patriot lapel pin for his outstanding support.
