The Wisconsin Army National Guard Hall of Honor expanded its prestigious roster to 51 on May 5th with the induction of four retired Guard Soldiers during a noon ceremony in Witmer Hall at Joint Force Headquarters. Two of the inductees are Wisconsin ESGR volunteers.

The Patriot Award recognizes supervisors and bosses nominated by a Guardsman or Reservist employee for support provided directly to the nominator. The award reflects the efforts of supervisors nationwide in supporting Citizen Warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed.

In requesting the award SSG Carter stated “Colonel Harris is an Outstanding Superior who has always supported the Army Reserves. He ensured that I received proper time off, pay and did anything extra that he could to assist in making my leave of absence run smoothly. He contacted my family on numerous occasions to make sure I was doing ok and if there was something that he could do.”

Dennis Treacy Executive Vice President and Chief Sustainability officer of Smithfield Foods, Inc. confirmed the company's support for the men and women serving in the National Guard and Reserve by signing an Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Statement of Support.

Eau Claire – The Wisconsin Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense, announced today that Mrs. Carrie Hallquist, Safety, Security & Risk Manager for Chippewa Valley Technical College (CVTC), was honored with a Patriot Award in recognition of extraordinary support of one of their employees.

Fort Meade, Maryland: Claire C. Louder, President and CEO of the West Anne Arundel County (MD) Chamber of Commerce confirmed the Chamber’s support for the men and women of the National Guard and Reserve on May 2, 2012 by signing an Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Statement of Support.  The signing ceremony took place at the Fort Meade annual Family Fun Fair.
