Rich Owens of the Alaska Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense agency, announced that Richard Strutz, Wells Fargo Alaska Regional President, signed a Statement of Support for the Guard and Reserve.
The Wisconsin Army National Guard Hall of Honor expanded its prestigious roster to 51 on May 5th with the induction of four retired Guard Soldiers during a noon ceremony in Witmer Hall at Joint Force Headquarters. Two of the inductees are Wisconsin ESGR volunteers.
The Patriot Award recognizes supervisors and bosses nominated by a Guardsman or Reservist employee for support provided directly to the nominator. The award reflects the efforts of supervisors nationwide in supporting Citizen Warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed.
In requesting the award SSG Carter stated “Colonel Harris is an Outstanding Superior who has always supported the Army Reserves. He ensured that I received proper time off, pay and did anything extra that he could to assist in making my leave of absence run smoothly. He contacted my family on numerous occasions to make sure I was doing ok and if there was something that he could do.”
