RICHMOND, Ky. — Richmond resident Judy A. Greene-Baker has been appointed the Area 6 Chairman for the Kentucky Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), according to ESGR State Chair Robert Silverthorn.
Area 6 corresponds to the Sixth Congressional District in Kentucky.
“Judy Greene-Baker has had an exceptional military reserve career,” said Silverthorn. “It is a great pleasure to see her accept this position, which again demonstrates her support of the important role of Guard and Reserve personnel and that of employers who support our citizen warriors.”
Greene-Baker began her government service at the Veterans Administration Medical Center as a Registered Nurse. In 1986, she became a federal technician with the Kentucky Army National Guard. She has held various positions including Occupational Health Nurse, Safety and Occupational Health Manager, civilian personnel supervisor and Director of Military Personnel.
“Being appointed for this position is an honor and I look forward to serving this area’s Guard and Reserve personnel and their employers in this capacity,” said Greene-Baker.
In addition to military service in the Kentucky Army National Guard, where she attained the rank of colonel, Greene-Baker has a long history of community and volunteer service. She is the chairperson of the Kentucky Military Family Assistance Trust Fund, Co-chairman of the 149th Signal Support Company’s Family Readiness Group, member of the Kentucky Military History Museum committee, president of the Brassfield School Reunion and treasurer of the Concord Homemakers. She has sewed more than 475 dresses for Little Dresses for Africa and completed a mission trip to Ethiopia in 2009 where she delivered more than 350 of the dresses to several community churches.

Greene-Baker is a lifelong resident of Kentucky.
