Smyrna, DE – Delaware ESGR Volunteer Rich Ruben honored Mr. Rich Liero of Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) in Newark, DE with a Patriot Award in recognition of his extraordinary support of employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve. The recipient was nominated by employee and Army National Guardsman LTC Robert Hyland. LTC Hyland serves in the Delaware Army National Guard, 72nd Troop Command. LTC Hyland writes in his award nomination that “Rich has always, without reservation, granted me leave with no questions asked. Many times, we were in the middle of working on high priority deliverables requiring my attention. No matter how important the work or the amount of workload on my plate, Rich and CSC graciously provided me with unwavering support of my National Guard duties. CSC provides their National Guard and Reserve soldiers with full medical benefits and pay differential while serving on active duty. CSC also goes out of its way to hire veterans and spouses of service members on active duty. In my 24 years of National Guard service I have never come across a company or boss as supportive of the National Guard.” According to Christine Kubik, Delaware ESGR Executive Director, “the ESGR Patriot Award was created to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve. Supportive supervisors are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of our nation’s Guard and Reserve units. Employers are nominated by their military employees”.
