Los Alamitos.CA. The California Committee of ESGR participated in a significant job event at this Southern California base recently. The program was initiated by the Army Reserve and the National Guard signed on to help with employment for their soliders. The effort was promoted by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Joint Council 42 and Helmet to Hard Hats.
The 11 December program at the Joint Forces Training Base in Orange County,CA was centered on an Employer Partnership Agreement with dozens of employers in being present.
Employer Partnerships are a vision of of LtGen Jack Stultz, Chief of the US Army Reserve and commanding general of the over 200,000 citizen soldiers of the USAR. Almost 800 employers across the nation have participated with over 60 based in California. New employers were signed on at the JFTB with over 100 soldiers,employers and guests in attendance.
In attendance was Andy Wiktorowicz, Chair of the California Committee of the Employer Support of The Guard and Reserves. Andy made it a point to say that ESGR is part of this since ESGR is all about citizen soldiers and their employers. California, being the largest state in the union will benefit from this agreement and the CA-ESGR wants to be part of these agreements concerning jobs for Guardsmen and Reservists.
Also, participating was Major General John Harrel, Commanding General of the California Army National Guard.
