Mayor John Marks, President of the Florida League of Cities accepts the Seven Seals Award from the Florida ESGR Committee during its 19 Nov 2009 Board Meeting in Orlando. 

The Seven Seals Award is the only Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve award that bridges both the employer and ESGR volunteer recognition awards program. It was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals, companies or organizations who provide significant achievement, initiative or support that promotes and supports the ESGR mission. 

Florida League of Cities was nominated for being highly supportive of the ESGR mission.  In August 2009, The League passed a resolution during their state conference encouraging all 410 City Members to join in expressing a heartfelt thanks to the members of our National Guard and Reserve for their extraordinary sacrifices on behalf of our nation by signing an ESGR Statement of Support (SOS).  Through the leadership of President Marks, the Florida League of Cities Team and the 410 Cities in Florida, the Florida League of Cities became the first League in the Nation to have 100% of its membership execute a Statement of Support.  This is a major accomplishment and will be a catalyst to encourage the rest of the nations League of Cities to follow The Florida League of Cities lead.

On behalf of the 37,000 plus members of the Guard and Reserve, the Florida ESGR Committee is privileged to support, we are honored to salute and thank the Florida League of Cities and its 410 Patriotic Members for this historic setting accomplishment in support of the selfless serving members of the Guard and Reserve and their families.  HOOAH!!!!
