Savannah managers Susan Washington and Bob Farrell were honored on July 21 for lending extraordinary support to their employees who serve in the military.  Both received Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award certificates from Jerry Loupee, Southeast Georgia coordinator of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. The ESGR was established by the Department of Defense in 1972 to generate and sustain employer support for employees who serve in National Guard and reserve units.

Washington, a purchasing manager in Dept. 315, was nominated by Lance Corporal Christian Eaddy, who serves in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. An aftermarket expediter in the Product Support Purchasing Department, Eaddy recently returned from a tour of duty in Iraq.

Farrell, an engineering manager in Dept. 340, was nominated by Sgt. Jessie Herbert, a member of the Georgia Army National Guard. Herbert is an avionics/electrical tech lead in the Integration Test Department. Joe Lombardo, who attended the ceremony, affirmed Gulfstream’s commitment to support employees
who serve in the military, pointing out that employees on active duty need not be concerned about their job or the welfare of their families while engaged in the nation’s service.
