A Patriot Award was presented today to Ms. Teresa Mattern, Southeast Community College Radiology Department, for her outstanding support to SSgt Jennifer Gubbels, 155th Services Flight, Nebraska Air National Guard. Her nomination reads, in part:
"...Teresa is my home site clinical instructor. She deserves to be recognized for many reasons. The most important are as follows: being in the radiology program, we have a very strict attendance policy. This last year in the Air Guard was very demanding...due to ORE/ORI preparation and exercise and inspection. She worked with me to allow to me take time off from my clinical classes to participate in military duties without any penalty in my classwork or grade. She has definitely gone above and beyond to help me be a member of the National Guard and still attend college full time...."
Attending the presentation are, from left to right, Colonel Robert Athan, Vice-Commander, 155th ARW, NE Air National Guard; Ms. Peggy Brown, Assistant Program Support Specialist, NE ESGR Committee; Mr Bill Nelson, Executive Director, NE ESGR Committee; Ms. Teresa Mattern; Mr. Dennis Hedrick, Vice President of Education, Southeast Community College; Dean Susan Noler, Dean of Health Services, Southeast Community College. |
