Some 40 bosses form West Virginia recently had an opportunity to tour military installations in Biloxi-Gulfport, MS, with members of the WV Employer Support of the Guard and Reserves Committee. The purpose of the trip was to allow employers to see the training and skills of their deployed employees, and to acknowledge their own contribution to national defense. | | |  |

CHICAGO – Illinois Governor Pat Quinn appeared on the Jonathan Brandmeier (Johnny B) Radio Show (WLUP–FM) and during the live broadcast he signed new legislation enhancing entitlements for Illinois Guard and Reserve members. OISE, ID (N3) - Federal employment law protects military reservists who deploy overseas. It means that when national guard soldiers from the Northwest come home, they can be assured they can go back to their old jobs. That means a lot to the Washington National Guard soldiers who just returned from Iraq and the Oregon troops who recently began a tour of duty there. But it's a strain for some employers who have to cover for their absent employees. The military is trying to teach the bosses of citizen soldiers what overseas deployments mean.
