Eric Overturf, Commander, 477th Fighter Group looks on as Mr. Rich Owens, ESGR State Chair for the state of Alaska, presents the Alaska Aces with the Seven Seals award before their hockey game 9 Jan. against the Utah Grizzlies.  The award is being accepted by Mr. Terry Parks, Managing Partner for the Alaska Aces.  The award presentation kicked off a night that highlighted the Alaska Reserve unit and reminded the community that the Reserve are in Alaska and are hiring for full and part-time positions.

Smyrna, DE – Steve Niewinski, Volunteer Committee Member for the Delaware Committee for ESGR honored Mr. Perry Sammons of City of Dover’s Sanitation Department with a Patriot Award in recognition of his extraordinary support of employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve.  The recipient was nominated by employee and Guard member SFC Don Stevens.  SFC Steven serves in the Delaware Army National Guard’s 261st Signal Brigade who have just returned from a deployment in Iraq.

Little Rock, Arkansas – Richard Green, Program Specialist with the Arkansas Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Committee (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense, announced that Mr. Jay Chesshir, President and CEO of the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce, signed a Statement of Support for the National Guard and Reserve on Tuesday, January 19, 2010.  The signing ceremony occurred at the Little Rock Chamber of Commerce Headquarters.  

Smyrna, DE – The Delaware Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (DE ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense, announced that Grotto Pizza owner, Dominick Pulieri signed a Statement of Support for the National Guard and Reserve on Tuesday, January 12, 2010.  The signing ceremony occurred at the corporate headquarters for Grotto Pizza in Rehoboth Beach, DE.  Grotto’s employs over 25 employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve.

HANSCOM AIR FORCE BASE, BEDFORD, MA. January 12, 2010. After finishing a fantastic repast in the Hanscom Minuteman Club, MA State Chair, Mr. Tom Boyle, convened the quarterly meeting of the twenty six MAESGR Committee Members in attendance. Chairman Boyle's first order of business was to introduce two very distinguished guests of honor. The guest speaker of the evening was Massachusetts Secretary for Veterans' Services Captain, (USN) (RET) Thomas G, Kelley, Medal of Honor Recipient. He earned the gratitude of our nation for his actions in the Ong Muong Canal, Kien Hoa Province, Republic of Vietnam, on June 15, 1969. The committee then welcomed another guest, who is also a Medal of Honor recipient, Captain (USN) (RET) Thomas Hudner Jr. CAPT Hudner was awarded the Medal of Honor during the Korean War as a Navy pilot who crash landed his own aircraft to save a fellow pilot who was shot down. He was the Secretary of MA Department of Veterans' Services prior to Secretary Kelley's appointment and is also Past Chair of The MAESGR Committee.

Division was honored today with a Patriot Award in recognition of extraordinary support of employees who serve in the Kentucky National Guard and Reserves. The presentation was made by the Kentucky Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense.

Kansas City, Missouri – Brigadier General (Retired) Tracy Beckette, State Chair of the Missouri Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Committee, an agency of the Department of Defense, announced that Jim Harte, Chief Engineer, and John Starr, CEO, signed a Statement of Support for the National Guard and Reserve on 12-15-09.  The signing ceremony occurred at the place of business 1414 W. 29^th Street in Kansas City, Missouri.

Ms. Paulette Mason, State Chair for the Delaware Committee for ESGR honored Lt. Christopher Harper of the Department of Veterans Affairs Police Services with a Patriot Award in recognition of his extraordinary support of their employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve.  The presentation took place at the VA’s Elsmere, DE facility, and in the company of other fellow managers and staff.  The recipient was nominated by employee and Guard member MSG Kenneth J. Knox who serves in the Delaware Air National Guard 166^thAir Wing, New Castle, DE.

Birmingham, AL – Patriotic Employer Awards were presented to Jefferson County, Alabama Sheriff Mike Hale and Detective Sergeant Jason Reach by Detective Ronny Short on December 16 for their support in his service with the 117th Air Refueling Wing, Alabama Air National Guard. Sheriff Hale and Detective Reach also signed Statements of Support. Representing the Alabama Committee, Employer Support of Guard and Reserve were State Chair Russell Summerlin and District 6 Chair John Griscom.

Smyrna, DE – The Delaware Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense, announced that Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc.’s Delaware Chapter signed a Statement of Support for the National Guard and Reserve on Thursday, December 17, 2009.   Mr. Ed Capodanno, President, signed for ABC Delaware. The support signing comes, following encouragement sent by ABC National Chairman, Mr. William Fairchild last year to all ABC chapters to follow suit, after the ABC Executive Committee signed their own Statement of Support.
